Welcome to Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out

Let’s Talk Ladies!

Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out is a virtual women's ministry that is on the GROW.  This ministry was conceived twenty-five years ago, but born amid the Coronavirus pandemic.  Our purpose is to uplift, support, and spiritually strengthen a Sister Circle of women.  This website provides a platform for prayer requests and inspiration as well as updates on official events near you! Our weekly virtual meetings provide a confidential outlet to unite, encourage, and inspire.  Whether it's something you say or something you hear, each gathering, something is shared that Helps a Sister Out. Each week, the Sunday session topic and topic notes will be posted here.  Feel free to submit/post a tip, testimonial, scripture, or question that may help sisters worldwide throughout the week regarding the topic.

Title: MANIFESTATION TIME

Mark 11:22-24
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Romans 4:16-18    16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.    17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

18  Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

Matthew 21:19-22 (key verses 21-22)

19  And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

20  And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:18-20    18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19  Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20   For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Revelations 12:9 and 11(a) The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

11 (a) They triumphed over him

by the blood of the Lamb
    and by the word of their testimony;

SOME HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK'S DISCUSSION:

Ever looked at the present conditions but known you're on the verge of manifestation and breakthrough?  If not, that's because the devil doesn't want you to!  The enemy often attacks the hardest to try to knock you down before you can officially be raised to a higher platform.

Don't lose faith at the threshold of manifestation. When the devil attacks, push back more! Push harder!Be like the 5 (virgins in Matthew 25:1-13) that are wise! Hold faithful! Be equipped and prepared to walk into your blessing that you are trusting God to receive - especially when He has promised that you will.

One of the devil's tricks is to cause anxiety if something has not manifested yet. Doubt/fear/feeling unworthy or uncertain about whether the Word was true to begin with. Don't delay things by not taking the steps you need to take to be prepared for when you get it! Clean out that garage for your car. Take the steps you need to be prepared when the thing that you ask for in faith happens.

Jesus didn't sit still and watch the fig tree! He kept moving about his business trusting it was so and accomplishing what needed to be accomplished. Get the house in order for a husband. Get that body right for a baby. It's not that God doesn't want to or isn't able to give it what we ask. But we should not ask amiss and we should be prepared to receive. Because timing is everything with God.

Too often we may be too pleased with the old and hindering the new from coming in. God said: I DO NOT PUT NEW WINE IN OLD WINE SKINS! Quit trying to pick up or hold onto the wrong or old.

DECLUTTER SIS!!! And prepare to receive the new & better that you are praying to receive.

SOW IN ORDER TO REAP.  Seed produces after its own kind.

PRAY THE SCRIPTURE REGARDING THAT WHAT YOU ARE ASKING AND BELIEVING FOR.

SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY GIRL!!! Rev. 12:9 and 11(a) tells us that we will overcome the devil (and receive those blessings and everlasting life that God wants for us) by the power of Jesus' blood AND BY THE POWER OF OUR TESTIMONY.

Our Roots

Rev. Alla Mitchell is a first lady and entrepreneur.  She is one half of the dynamic ministry duo team with her husband Pastor Raymond Mitchell. They've both been in ministry nearly 30 years.  Nearly twenty years ago, God placed this ministry name and concept into Rev. Mitchell's heart.  Fifteen years later, as Rev. Mitchell was facilitating an enterprenuerial youth summer camp, she noticed that some teenaged girls were being divisively played against each other by the teenaged boys.  Instead of using "society dollars" to build up their own businesses or even to collaborate for larger success, the girls allowed seeds of jealousy and competition to distract and hinder them; some even gave society money to the teenage boys.  This made quite an impression and Alla realized that the Girl Talk principles of sisterhood and support are needed by girls and women alike.

In September 2020, amid the Corona pandemic, when death, disease, and scarcity gripped so many, God, as always, had a firm grip on every situation. It was at this time that a floodgate of inspiration opened, a clear vision was given, and much of Girl Talk was planned and organized during a morning prayer and check-in call between Alla, her daughters Nikki and Lauren, and one or two of their friends.  The next week the ladies held the very first session.  On September 12, 2020, the very first Sunday of the 2020-2021 NFL regular season, Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out was officially born.  The official intro song of Diana Ross' I'm Coming Out was used and the inaugural session theme was Handling Baggage.

Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out is a virtual sister-circle with Christ at its center.  Weekly sessions often alternate between themed topics, open mic round table impromptu discussions, game nights, and occasional special event sessions such as a Super Bowl Sunday session and afterparty as well as the occasional virtual birthday celebration.   The rest, is herstory in the making.

The Ladies Creating The Legacy:
Rev. Alla Mitchell - is the creator of Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out.   She also owns her own beauty salon and line of hair care products and body balm.  She has dedicated her life to spreading God's word and helping women feel confident and beautiful.  Alla is a loving wife and a mother of four.  Amid the Corona pandemic she not only started Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out, with her daughters at her side and her husband behind her for moral support, but she also started Youth Hour of Power, a similar ministry especially for children and youth aimed towards teaching and cultivating strong prayer lives in our youth and towards providing a fun virtual outlet for youth across America.

Bernice Seegars - (1938-2021) mother of Rev. Alla Mitchell.  Known for her love of in-depth, group and private Bible study and for her outgoing, friendly spirit.  Also a beautician by Bernice's catch phrase really made an impact on anyone she encountered.  Whenever anyone had any problem or question of any kind, she always began her wise advice by asking the question,  "What the WORD say?!"  As such a loving influence on Alla and the entire family, and because the What The WORD Say motto is an inspirational quote that needs to be forever memorialized, GTHASO pays tribute to Bernice.

Nikki & Lauren Mitchell - daughters of Raymond and Alla Mitchell.  Nikki and Lauren help to create content and help facilitate sessions.  The daughters are helping with nonprofit organization formation and other long-term planning and projects for Girl Talk: Help A Sister Out.
